  I had John give me a quote to pave mine and my neighbors driveway. The quote was fair as my neighbor and I were splitting the cost. I brought to his attention two concerns I had because the driveway before it was paved was crushed stone making the end of the driveway dip so my car bottomed out when leaving or entering. The second concern was water pooling in front of my garage after a storm or melt and ice in the winter.
  He said he would fix both with no problem. He showed me how he would bank it so it would run off and drain properly. He drew orange lines to show where it would go and in the contract it was to be graded and have a 3 inch base.
  I agreed and signed his contract. They came a few days later and started the job, first doing the grading and then the actual paving. Was a neat process to watch.
  Several things happened next that I felt was very unprofessional, the foreman, which I am assuming is his son was barking orders at the other two guys and using language that wasn't necessary. Then the foreman came to my window asking for refreshments for him and the guys as it was a very hot day. So thinking it was a bit odd that they didn't carry their own supplies I reluctantly agreed and gave a pitcher of ice water and three cups. I got the pitcher and two cups back after they left. Later John came up to my door and just walked right into my house demanding something better to drink than ice water as he was more important then his guys! He was dirty and dripping sweat all over my house and to get him out quickly I gave him a can of soda. This I felt was extremely rude and crossing the line of professionalism. Also they left trash and cigarette butts all over my yard that I had to pick up.
  Everything seemed fine until we had a big rain and it started to flood my garage. I called John and explained what was going on and he said he'd come out and take a look. Told me that he needed a special tool to grade on top the newly laid pavement to make it feather in and look seamless. I told him I wanted it done ASAP because now it was getting close to the beginning of October. Every time I asked about it he said soon, I'll call you. Here it is November 7th and when I text him now it shows call failed. I am assuming he has no intention of fixing the issue and it will cost more money to fix it the right way.
  The more I think about the transaction and how it went down it was more like a smash and grab, do the job fast, get payment fast ( took my check right to my bank and cashed it within 15 minutes of getting it) and never looking back or righting any wrongs. If I had read the other reviews on him I wouldn't have used him for the job!!!!
